Welcome to our site
Welcome to Indian Summer's world of fantasy. We're
an unusually versatile band. One incarnation is as a folk–rock
band with a heavy dose of funk – the rhythm section also
works in fusion bands! We play traditional mediaeval music. And
we play traditional Ceilidhs - Irish / Scots / English dances
– reels, jigs, hornpipes, polkas; ideal for weddings and
birthdays. Our nearest relatives are Pentangle , Steeleye Span
and Clannad . We cover songs by all these bands, also Scots,
Irish and English traditional ballads and broadsheet songs; we
perform a wide range of Appalachian and Cajun songs, and produce
a great deal of original material. There's a cycle about King
Arthur on the Sword of Power album; Lake of Tears is strongly
Celtic; A Christmas Past features mediaeval carols; Rogues, Wrecks
and Rebels is traditional folk, ‘does what it says on the
label'. |
